6 Event Decor Ideas for Our Pallet Lounge
Our pallet furniture rental collection is one of the most versatile pieces we offer, and once you’ve chosen your configuration, the next step is making it feel complete. The lounge itself sets the foundation, but it’s the details around it that bring the whole area together. And unlike traditional sofas and armchairs where decor elements sit separately around the furniture, pallet lounges can actually hold accessories within the lounge itself, whether it’s plants, pillows, umbrellas, or side tables placed right on the structure. That’s what turns a simple seating setup into a space that feels intentional, inviting, and ready for guests. Here are six event decor ideas we’ve seen work really well with our pallet lounges.
Accent Pillows
Pillows are probably the easiest way to add color and personality to a pallet lounge. A mix of sizes and colors creates texture and makes the seating area feel more comfortable and layered. And when the pillows are branded with a company logo or event name, the whole lounge starts to feel like the brand owns the space. It’s a small addition that has a big visual impact, and it’s one of the first things attendees notice when they sit down.
Plants and Greenery
Wood and plants just work together. Adding greenery to a pallet lounge instantly makes the space feel warm and welcoming. Boston ferns are the most common choice we see, and they fit perfectly on the pallet structure itself. But some designers take it further. For a summit at 1111 Lincoln Road on Miami Beach, the event designer placed actual trees within the lounge, growing right out of the structure. It completely changed the feel of the space and gave the whole rooftop area a kind of natural, garden energy that you don’t get from furniture alone.
Side Tables and Coffee Tables
Small tables scattered around and in between the pallet lounges complete the setup in a practical way. They give guests a place to set down drinks and food, but they also add a visual contrast to the wood. We offer a range of options, from our colorful Flattered Tables to our natural Maple Tables, and each one brings a different feel depending on the event. They’re lightweight and easy to move, so guests or staff can rearrange them during the event as needed. Adding a logo to the tabletop is always a plus, and it’s one more way to work brand identity into the lounge area without it feeling forced.
Chairs
Adding chairs around the pallet lounges creates more seating and a different kind of interaction. Someone sitting on the lounge can have a conversation with someone sitting in a chair right next to them, with a table in between. It opens up the space and makes the lounge area feel less like a single piece of furniture and more like a full gathering zone. Our Wire Chairs work well for a clean, minimal look, while the colorful Eames Replica Chairs add personality and tie into bolder event themes. We’ve seen both work at events like TED in Atlanta, where the chairs and lounges together created a casual, inviting atmosphere.
Beach Umbrellas
For outdoor events, umbrellas are a great addition to the pallet lounges. They add practical shade, but they also make the whole structure feel more complete and layered. At the Scope art show in Miami Beach, we set up our Black & White Stripe Umbrellas as part of the multi-level pallet lounge with matching striped cushions, and the combination gave the entire lounge area a cohesive, finished look. It’s a simple addition that changes the feel of the space.
Branded Signage
If you can incorporate branded signage into the lounge area, it takes the whole setup to another level. Imagine large-scale letters spelling out the event name or company name, placed right within the lounge where attendees are sitting. It’s instantly Instagrammable and picture-worthy, and it ties the entire space to the brand’s identity. We’ve seen this work at conferences where oversized lettering was built into the pallet lounge itself, with colorful cushions and ferns completing the scene. It turns the lounge into the most photographed spot at the event.
So when planning a brand activation, a conference, or an outdoor festival, the right accessories can turn a pallet lounge into a complete, cohesive space that guests actually want to spend time in.
